Group or Individual Sound Booths
Professional, Medical Appearance

IAC Series sound attenuated booths are used in conjunction with the Tremetrics RA-500 and 650 microprocessor audiometers for audiometric testing. The booths are constructed with sound-attenuated modular panels and provide the best possible acoustic environment to conduct valid pure tone audiograms. All booths meet or exceed ambient noise reduction requirements as required by OSHA.

Six-man, four-booth units, and two-booth units are available. Units have the capacity of testing 16-25 patients per hour. Units require regular 110, 20 amp. outlets. No special wiring is required.

State-of-the-art Equipment
Audiologist on Staff

Tremetrics RA-650 Group Microprocessor Audiometers and RA-500 Microprocessor Audiometers are used to conduct audiometric testing. These audiometers are manufactured by Tremetrics, a leader in hearing conservation testing products for over 30 years. At the forefront of technology, Tremetrics RA-650 Group Microprocessor audiometers use patented multimedia capability to allow computer voice instructed testing in a variety of languages.

Pure-tone air conduction hearing threshold testing is done in accordance with acceptable audiometric procedures and government standards.

For hard-to-test patients, the audiometer automatically switches to an adaptive testing mode. It can determine when subjects are slow to respond and lengthen the response window for those patients.

All audiometers receive an exhaustive calibration annually to meet OSHA and ANSI standards.

Cotton Dust Testing

Our respiratory surveillance programs provide your business assistance in developing medical surveillance for employees exposed to respiratory contaminants. Our services include pulmonary function testing at your worksite, data processing and review, physician interpretation and supervision, and employee notification and reports.

Cotton dust and non-cotton dust pulmonary function testing is available for clients. Jones SBS-3 spirometers are used to conduct testing.

Our experienced, NIOSH-trained technicians are always friendly and courteous and are skilled in encouraging the best effort from employees.

All results are reviewed by a physician.

Respirator Training

All respirators that rely on a mask-to-face seal need to be annually checked with either qualitative or quantitative methods to determine whether the mask provides an acceptable fit to a wearer. The qualitative fit test procedures rely on a subjective sensation (taste, irritation, smell) of the respirator wearer to a particular test agent while the quantitative uses measuring instruments to measure face seal leakage. The relative workplace exposure level determines what constitutes an acceptable fit and which fit test procedure is required.

For negative pressure air purifying respirators, users may rely on either a qualitative or a quantitative fit test procedure for exposure levels less than 10 times the occupational exposure limit. Exposure levels greater than 10 times the occupational exposure limit must utilize a quantitative fit test procedure for these respirators.

Quantitative respirator fit testing uses the OHD QuantiFit to measure exact leakage into the breathing zone of the respirator face piece. Contrary to popular perception, it actually takes less time to conduct a quantitative test than a qualitative test because there is no taste or odor threshold screening time required.

10 Panel Urine Screenings
6 Panel Oral Screenings

We offer both an oral fluid and a urine drug screening that gives results in approximately 5 minutes. These tests are convenient, quick, and non-invasive. Our trained technicians come on-site to test and produce documentation for each employee and employer that day. Tests are FDA approved, and our program is backed by health professionals.

Electronic Transfer
Trend Analysis

Focus on Occupational Safety and Health Management (FOSHM) software is used to manage, archive, and compare the test results. FOSHM was designed to be the most comprehensive industrial medical management program available. It was developed by AUSSCO, Inc., a company with over 30 years of experience in the audiometric testing industry.

FOSHM allows Henderson & Associates, Inc. to provide standard, easy-to-read reports to clients. It also enables us to provide more individualized information as requested by you, the customer. We can do trend analysis of your audiometric results indicating if hearing loss is predominant in a certain area or department.

The system also allows for easier tracking of personnel in your respiratory surveillance and hearing conservation programs. For example, we can generate a list of personnel who have not had a test in a particular year. A variety of different status reports and tracking reports can be generated. Please request a Sample Report package to review report layout and format.

For audiometric testing, the software automatically computes the amount of shift and indicates if an STS (Standard Threshold Shift) is present. Specific follow-up actions are noted on the report returned to you. For respiratory surveillance, reports identify employees who need additional referral or those recommended for a follow-up test.

Personal sampling
Area monitoring

Personal sampling can be coordinated at your facility with up to 10 samples per day. Area monitoring is conducted in conjunction with personal sampling. Quest Sound Level Meters are used for area monitoring. Quest Q300 or Q220 dosimeters are used to conduct area monitoring. All equipment is calibrated pre- and post- data collection.

Concise, descriptive results are presented with specific recommendations for follow-up action if necessary. Results are presented in a binder with management reports and recommendations. Individual sample results include dose, Pdose, TWA, peak levels, LAVG, UL Time, as well as copies of the applicable standards. Exposure levels are downloaded into the computer system and can be presented in graphical format to show peak exposure levels throughout the day. Digital recordings can be made of noise sources and provided in .WAV files and incorporated into the report. Please request a Sample Report package.

If you have your own in-house program, we can assist you with your audiometric and pulmonary interpretation services. We will review and interpret your hearing and/or spirometry tests and provide reports and recommendations. We will provide STS follow-up recommendations and documentation letters. We will maintain all results in our database for the life of the contract.

We can assist you in transferring historical test results from paper to database. This can be done at your facility or in our office. Call us for details!
