Frequently Asked Questions

Click a question below to learn more about Albemarle Audiology.

Q. Do I Need an Appointment?

A. We would prefer that you make an appointment so we can allow enough time with you and ensure we are not already with somebody else. However, if you do walk in, we will do our best to accommodate your needs at that time.

Q. How long will the initial visit take?

A. Usually a first-time visit entails a short consultation with the audiologist then a full evaluation is performed. After the tests are performed, there will be another short consultation to review the results, during which our staff will answer any questions you may have. This entire visit takes approximately one hour.

Q. Do you take insurance?

A. We do accept most types of insurance. You may look into your hearing aid benefits yourself, or we would be happy to do it for you. Insurances include:

  • Medicare
  • BCBS (state and federal)
  • Cigna
  • United Healthcare
  • Aetna

Q. How much are hearing aids?

A. Albemarle Audiology works with Siemens Hearing Instruments and Westone. Siemens offers many different options. Each hearing loss has its own individuality, and we will do our best to make sure we recommend the best and most affordable hearing aid for that specific hearing loss.

Q. Do you offer financing?

A. We do not offer financing.

Q. Can you repair a hearing aid purchased elsewhere?

A. In most cases we can repair any hearing aid in our office. If the aid cannot be repaired in office by our staff, we can send it out to be repaired, but there will be an additional charge.
